Mojito Shoe Julian Hakes

The Mojito is a unique architectural shoe, designed by London based architect Julian Hakes, it is so ethereal that gives the feeling of walking on air.

Its unique design consists of a single piece of material, which wraps graciously around the wearer’s foot.  Apart from being a shoe the Mojito can easily stand out as a modern sculpture, in the appropriate space it could easily get away posing as an abstract artwork. The Mojito shoe is possibly the most utterly minimalist high heel ever made.

The mojito is made of a single carbon fiber piece, laminated with rubber on the walking side and leather on the foot side. The carbon fiber core which provides the shoe with structural rigidity, the leather provides comfort and the rubber part serves as an out-sole, 3 different materials, each fulfilling a specific task.

According to Hakes the name “Mojito” derives from the fact that the shoes is so light and airy on the foot, as if it was a twist of lime skin.

Dear K,

Nope, this is not a product we sell, but rather part of an informative article in our blog.

Our webpage consists of two sections the e-shop (designisthis.com) which contains products we stock and sell. And the blog (designisthis.com/blog) which is an online magazine were we present articles regarding designer products and arts.

We stock a number of products that are also present in the blog, but not this one I am afraid. We considered it given its popularity, but too many sizes and too many colors for a design store… this is pure fashion retailer territory.

All the best
Andreas
