The Alessandro M. Corkscrew (red / white) was designed by Alessandro Mendini for the Alessi label and is a self-portrait of the designer, hence his name.
Shaped like a bowler-hatted gentleman, an enjoyable kitchen utensil that will be great fun to pull out of the drawer when a bottle of wine needs uncorking.
The Alessandro M. Corkscrew is the partner of Anna G. Corkscrew that was first produced in 1994 and since then it is a best seller of Alessi label.
The first thing that strikes you about it is the jaunty figure that forms the case, but underneath the figure, there's a highly efficient and robust screw that will be able to handle cork and plastic stoppers with ease.
The corkscrew has the perfect size to slip into your hand. When there is nothing to open, it will still stand proudly on the table, ready for use.
