Grundig Audiorama 9000 Spherical Speaker System.

Category: Technology

Grundig Audiorama 9000 Speaker System

The updated Grundig Audiorama 9000 loudspeakers are a new interpretation of its classical predecessor of the seventies. The classic Audiorama of the 1970s was a spherical omnidirectional speaker system which remains an iconic image of High-End speakers from that era.

Elements of the original model were revived and reworked into a contemporary context, using new materials and extended details on the shape. The basic geometric shape, a sphere, gives the object a streamlined, clean and pure impression with a dynamic look. The “Equator line” around the middle divides the body into two spherical halves. The high gloss is a stimulating contrast in respect of the matt material covering the parts. This futuristic-looking speakers can be placed on an integrated stand or hanged up to the ceiling and provides clear 360 degrees surround sound without the “lattice fence effect”.

Dreamfarm Teafu Tea Infuser

The innovative Teafu Tea Infuser by Australia based Dreamfarm makes tea preparation a bit more stylish and a whole lot easier, because when you want a cup of tea it should be about relaxing an enjoying it.

Inspired by the classic “tea infuser ball” Teafu takes this simple design many steps further. The central idea is the funky flexible silicone pod where the tea is kept. Squeezing Teafu’s flexible silicone pod forces water in and out, circulating more water around your tea leaves which brews them faster, letting you enjoy your tea sooner. The flexible infuser pod also lets you squeeze out every last drop from your tea leaves. When your tea is ready you can stand your Teafu on the counter without any mess. And to top it off it opens completely flat and doubles as a spoon. Simply ingenious!

Spomenik, The Monuments of Former Yugoslavia.

Category: Art Various

Spomenik The Monuments of Former Yugoslavia

In the rugged, mountainous regions of the former Yugoslavia, Spomeniks are everywhere. You’ll see them on strategic outcrops, lofty passes and sweeping plateaus: gigantic sculptures, firmly anchored to the rocks. They are objects of stunning beauty.

Translated the word Spomenik means “Monument”, these gigantic, unusual, monuments are the reminiscences of a different era. Their abstract geometric shapes recall macro views of viruses, flower-petal goblets, crystals. They are built of indestructible materials like reinforced concrete, steel and granite. Some are solid, others hollow. The largest Spomeniks even afford access to the public, teetering on the boundary where sculpture becomes architecture.

La Corbeille Outlight Table Lamp by Benjamin Faure.

La Corbeille Outlight Table Lamp by Benjamin Faure

Designed by Benjamin Faure for La Corbeille Editions the Outlight Table Lamp is an utterly minimalist light fixture that stands out for its sophisticated simplicity.

Benjamin Faure used a flat piece of material in order to produce a pure object without any surplus. A wooden block is cut so that an archetypal shape of a lamp appears in the middle. Essentially the designer reinterpreted the shape of an archetypal lamp and expressed it using an entirely different medium. The Outlight Table Lamp is made in France and comes in two variations, in oak or in white lacquered MDF.
