Ligne Roset Bloom Ceiling Light by Hiroshi Kawano.

Category: Lighting

Ligne Roset Bloom Lamp by Hiroshi Kawano

The Bloom ceiling light was designed by young Japanese designer Hiroshi Kawano for Ligne Roset, and consists of interlocking rings in either black or white color to create an abstract flower head shape.

Its characteristic asymmetric rings made from polyether foam and interlock in a random way forming a simple yet complex shape. The innovation is that it is a mono structural design and the interlocking rings react to and are shaped by the heat of the light bulb. Essentially the Ligne Roset Bloom ceiling light really blooms!

The Bloom light is suitable for a huge variety of applications. We like the fact that it does not filter or refract light in any way, but ti does create impressive shadows, thus combining an impressive, dramatic and artistic effect with pure bright lighting. It is available in two versions, a ceiling and a floor one in black or white.

A Date With Wine Bottle Stopper.

Category: Kitchen

A Date With Wine

A Date With Wine by New York-based artist George Lee, is creative wine stopper that solves the problem of guessing if you wine is still good in a stylish way.

It is basically a bottle stopper with three metal rings which are adjusted to show the date that the bottle was opened. So when you open a bottle and do not finish it within the same day, you can easily recall when it was opened and if the wine is still drinkable. But apart from its obvious usability, A Date With Wine also has an aesthetic value and an interesting design.

It is made from food-grade stainless steel and it has an “Industrial Look” that makes it stand out due to its complexity. At the same time, because it resembles a “fine mechanism”, when placed on a bottle, it makes such intense contradiction with the simple form of the bottle that creates an interesting artistic effect. It is an ingenious Gadget for wine lovers and it has an original design which is combined with a practical advantage.

Dawn NG I fly like paper get high like planes

Artist Dawn NG created a unique sculptural installation composed of thousands of paper airplanes, just like those you used to play with, when you were kids. This impressive artwork is titled: I fly like paper get high like planes.

The concept is based on the idea of intense human emotions, which are suddenly generated and instantly overwhelm our brain and thought. Dawn NG visually recreates that great wave of emotion by using thousands of paper airplanes that burst through a single window and explode into the massive indoor space, physically overwhelming it……

Inside Out Collection Glasses byAMT.

Category: Kitchen

Inside Out Collection Glasses

The Inside Out Collection Glasses byAMT are a radical design take on some of the most characteristic and recognizable alcoholic drink glasses.

Normally the shape of a glass tells us what we should pour in it. Alssia Melka Teichroew, the designer of these wonderful glasses, challenges these assumptions. She literally turns the glasses inside out, so the function of the glass is no longer defined by its external shape. The exteriors of her Inside Out Glasses are neutral, the trapezoidal or cylindrical form of the archetypical drinking glasses. It’s the negative space of the interior that reveals each glass’s intended purpose-especially when filled with liquid.

The series includes five glasses, one wine glass, one champagne glass, one martini glass, one liquor glass and one shot glass. The Inside Out Collection Glasses are uniquely elegant, but aside of the visual beauty there is also a more practical function. The double wall of the glass provides additional insulation and your drink simply doesn’t warm as fast as it would in a normal glass.

Ross Lovegrove Rectangular Table by Knoll.

Category: Furniture

Knoll Ross Lovegrove Table

The Lovegrove Rectangular Table is a product of the well-known Knoll International and it is of course designed by Ross Lovegrove.

The design is a typical sample of Lovegrove’s work, characterized by a rounded shape with minimum edges, simple minimal lines and advanced manufacturing technology. The table board is made with Starphire™ glass, which has lower iron content than ordinary glass, making it more transparent and shinier. The basis consists of steel tubes, which are tangled together and they are available in a variety of bold colors.

Among the many interesting variations of the series, the most successful design is perhaps the version with the multi-color base. Its base consists of robin’s egg blue, rust, yellow and orange tubes, creating an unexpected and at the same time pleasant contrast. The Knoll Lovegrove table is characterized by a subtle elegance and is equally suitable for use as a dining table or an office desk.
